Ayesha Howard has joined forces with another of Anthony Edwards’ baby mamas in a new court filing over child support. One of the Minnesota Timberwolves star’s former partner submitted a declaration that Howard is now using as evidence in her case. The filing aims to strengthen her argument that the case belongs in California court.
Ayesha Howard’s Latest Court Filing
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ayesha Howard submitted a new declaration as evidence. She got the declaration from Alexandria Desroches, the mother of Anthony Edwards’ other child.
In the declaration, Desroches revealed that Edwards has been sending her voluntary monthly child support payments via wire transfer from a Beverly Hills bank account. Ayesha Howard now uses this detail to argue that Edwards has significant financial ties to California, contradicting his claim that he has no meaningful connection to the state
Edwards’ legal team is pushing back hard, calling Ayesha’s motions “meritless and harassing.” His lawyer added that he has “never encountered a litigant who has so flagrantly and repeatedly abused the judicial process.”
Background Of The Child Support Dispute
Anthony Edwards and Ayesha Howard have been locked in a legal battle for over a year. Edwards originally filed for paternity and child support in Georgia in 2024, Howard has pushed to keep the case in California, where she lives with their daughter.
A California judge previously ruled that the state lacked jurisdiction. However, Howard now argues that the court made that decision without full disclosure of Edwards’ financial ties to California.
Edwards’ legal team has pushed back against the latest filing, asking the court to seal parts of the case and limit further motions from Howard.
What This Means For Anthony Edwards’ Case
Howard and Desroches, are not involved in a joint lawsuit. However, the situation has put California Jurisdiction back in question.
By introducing Alexandria Desroches’ declaration into the case, Ayesha Howard is directly attempting to reopen the jurisdiction issue and prove that California courts should have authority over Anthony Edwards’ child support obligations.
If successful, the move could lead to significantly higher payments than a Georgia court might order, and potentially extend the legal battle for the NBA star.
