The production of the movie was characterized by high level of stress and friction that extended even after the show became popular and successful. Throughout the eight seasons, the production environment remained high-pressure. In addition to this, major changes occurred that sparked years of internet gossip and most notably was the sudden disappearance of Jill Marie Jones. Fans assumed there was bad blood bewteen her and one of the cast members but the fact was Jones decided not to renew her contract at the end of season . BTS Twist

The unexpected twist to the Girlfriends series that came as a surprise to fans was the fact that at one point, the show’s survival hinged on the most unlikely Hollywood ally, a sitcom legend in his own right; Kelsey Grammer. However, this couldn’t go on forever as the show faced major hits that caused executives to cancel the series over a simple phone call to save money. This move blindsided the whole cast and crew and left major storylines and plots unfinished.

Away from the raz-mataz of show business, the characters on Girlfriends have maintained a cordial, real-life sisterhood sharing a lot of love and genuine bond off-screen. Off-camera, the cast has supported each other through milestones, and sharing friendship that lasted long after the series ended.
