Kris Jenner is opening up about her experience with Ozempic, and according to the reality star, the popular weight-loss drug did not work well for her at all.
The Kardashian-Jenner momager recently shared that she tried Ozempic before most people even knew about it. But instead of helping her feel better, she said the medication left her feeling so sick that she could barely get through the day.
Now, Jenner is explaining why she stopped taking it and what she decided to use instead.
Kris Jenner Says Ozempic Made Her Feel “Really Sick”
Watch a clip from the conversation on the She MD podcast:
On the She MD podcast with Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney, Jenner revealed she tried the medication earlier on but had to stop after feeling unwell and realizing it wasn’t a good fit for her body.
“I tried it,” Jenner said. “We tried it once when no one knew what it was and it made me really sick.”
The 70-year-old explained that the side effects became overwhelming, with severe nausea disrupting both her daily routine and work schedule.
“I called her up one day,” Jenner said while speaking about Dr. Aliabadi. “And I go, ‘I can’t work anymore. I can’t, I’m so sick. I can’t like, nauseous.’”
At that point, her doctor suggested trying something different instead of continuing with Ozempic.
Originally created for Type 2 diabetes, Ozempic, later became widely known for helping with weight loss. In recent years, many celebrities have been linked to Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications, though not everyone has had the same experience. For Jenner, the side effects were enough to make her walk away from it completely.
Jenner also noted that she ultimately discontinued the treatment after the side effects became unmanageable.
The Momager Found Another Option That Worked Better
After stopping Ozempic, Jenner said she worked closely with her doctor to find a new plan that fit her body better.
“And so she goes, ‘Okay, okay, let’s try something else,’” Jenner recalled.
According to Jenner, they explored several options before landing on peptide injections and supplements. While she did not reveal the exact type of peptide injections she uses, she made it clear that she is no longer taking Ozempic or similar GLP-1 drugs. Instead, she says the new routine gave her more energy and improved the way she felt overall.
“And that was a game changer,” Jenner shared.
She explained that the supplements helped her stay active longer during the day, especially because she starts her mornings very early.
“That actually bought me an extra couple hours at night,” she said. “Because I get up so early, I tend to want to go and collapse as soon as I have my last email or my last call or see my kids and have dinner and I’m done.”
Jenner also said the supplements helped her hair, nails, and skin, which she felt made a noticeable difference.
Kris Jenner Focuses on Hormone Health and Preventative Care
Beyond weight loss, Jenner said she now pays much closer attention to her overall health, especially her hormones. The reality star revealed that she regularly checks her hormone levels and gets blood work done every few months.
“I get my blood drawn every three months just to keep my hormones balanced,” Jenner explained.
She added that learning more about hormone health changed the way she takes care of herself as she gets older.
“Because I realized after I was 45, that was so important to just your physical female health, and male health, by the way,” she said.
Jenner also shared that she encourages her son Rob Kardashian to monitor his health in the same way.
For the Kardashians star, the experience seems to have become about more than just losing weight. Instead, she says it helped her better understand what her body needs.
Kris Jenner Continues to Address Health and Beauty Rumors
Jenner’s comments about Ozempic come after months of public discussion about her appearance, including rumors surrounding her facelift. The television personality recently shut down claims that she was unhappy with the results of her surgery. In fact, Jenner strongly defended her doctor and said reports claiming otherwise were completely false.
“I love my facelift,” Jenner said during a recent podcast appearance with daughter Khloé Kardashian. “I adore my doctor. I’m obsessed with him.”
For now, Jenner appears focused on maintaining her health in ways that work best for her personally. And while Ozempic may have helped some people, she made it clear that her own experience with the drug was anything but easy.
Jenner’s comments add to a growing shift in how weight-loss and wellness trends are discussed in Hollywood. More public figures are speaking openly about the process behind them, including side effects, discomfort, and the trade-offs that come with rapid-fix solutions.
For years, celebrity weight loss was often presented as a finished result. Now, the conversation is becoming more transparent about what happens in between and the fact that not every trend works the same way for everyone
