Five months into life as new parents, Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt are navigating more than sleepless nights. According to a report, the couple is balancing the joys of raising their daughter, Scottie Rose, with behind-the-scenes relationship struggles. While insiders say the pair remain committed to making things work, the transition into parenthood has brought new pressures, forcing them to reassess priorities and find stability together.

Pete Davidson & Elsie Hewitt Navigate Parenthood Pressures
Behind the scenes, the couple is reportedly working through growing pains that come with a major life shift. “There are issues, but they’re trying to figure things out together,” a source told PEOPLE on Thursday, April 30. “They’re adjusting to parenthood and working through the process.”
The insider added that despite the challenges, their daughter remains at the center of everything. Scottie Rose, born on Dec. 12, 2025, has quickly become the glue holding them together. The child was named after Davidson’s late father, a New York City firefighter who died during the 9/11 attacks, adding emotional weight to this new chapter in his life.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in March 2025 and publicly shared their pregnancy news just months later in July. Since welcoming Scottie, they have offered glimpses of their parenting journey on social media, carefully keeping her face private while sharing milestones.
Hewitt marked one such moment in March, celebrating her daughter turning 12 weeks old with a heartfelt post. “my scottie girl is 12 weeks old today 💝 on the way to the hospital we wrote down our predictions for what time she’d be born,” she wrote. “my guess was 3:05pm (my birthday, 03/05). after 23 hours of labor, that is the exact time she arrived. how cr*zy and cool is that.”
The emotional highs are clear, but so are the adjustments. Like many new parents, they are learning to balance individual needs with shared responsibilities, all while under public scrutiny.
Fatherhood Changes Pete Davidson’s Outlook
Davidson himself has been candid about how becoming a father has reshaped his mindset. Speaking to PEOPLE in March, he described the experience in blunt but affectionate terms: “Dad life is f–king awesome,” he said. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I’m very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can’t stress enough how lucky I am.”
That sense of gratitude is paired with a new intensity. The comedian admitted that fatherhood has unlocked a protective instinct he never expected. “It’s funny. It’s like I didn’t understand this. You’re just ready to fight anyone,” he said. “It’s like, chill out. No one’s doing anything to your kid.”
He continued by describing the sudden shift in temperament. “You have this overly protective like…if one paparazzi guy pops out I’m going to f–king beat the living s–t out of him,” he said. “So that’s a weird gear because I’m not a fighter guy.”
Beyond emotional changes, practical decisions are also reflecting his new priorities. According to Mansion Global, Davidson is currently selling his North Salem, New York property, a retreat he once described as peaceful and private. The move is largely motivated by a desire to be closer to family in Staten Island and New Jersey, making day-to-day life with a newborn more manageable.
“It’s literally like living in paradise,” he said of the home, while also acknowledging that the distance has become difficult with a young child.
Even as their relationship faces strain, both Davidson and Hewitt appear focused on building a stable environment for their daughter. For now, the couple is choosing to work through their differences rather than walk away, signaling that while the transition has been tough, their shared commitment to Scottie Rose remains unshaken.
