We’ve watched zombies teaming up with humans, werewolves joining the squad, and even
aliens swooping in – all leading to a feel-good theme of unification in the movie franchise
Zombies. Now, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires is taking things to the next level! This time,
the Seabrook crew will help a new bunch of daywalkers and vampires find their place, proving
once again that everyone deserves a seat at the table… even if they have fangs.
Freya Skye, who takes on the role of Nova the daywalker, and Malachi Barton, who plays Victor
the vampire, are the exciting new faces joining the Disney Zombies universe. Onsite! had the
chance to catch up with them about their experience filming the latest movie. Their excitement
was absolutely contagious as they lit up talking about the moment they got that callback.
“My audition process was extremely long,” Malachi emphasized but later admitted that when he
finally got the call, he was “pretty hype” about it. “I ended up getting the call from my manager
and she was acting like I didn’t get it… and then she was like oh ‘you want to go to New
Zealand?’ And I was like ‘yea sure why not,’ and then I went to New Zealand and now I’m here
talking to you.”
It’s not often you get the chance to go from watching something you love on television to
actually being a part of it. Freya revealed that she’s been a fan of the Zombies movies before
joining the cast. Now her dream has come true, as she shared how special it felt to now become
part of the Zombies family.
“I was just so unbelievably happy when I found out l booked it. I loved this franchise for so long
so getting the opportunity to step into the role was just crazy… Very exciting,” Freya said.
As fans of the films, we took them on a trip down memory lane to share which supernatural
powers and characters from the earlier Zombies movies they thought were the coolest – and
their answers were definitely interesting! Malachi said if he could take on any supernatural
power it would be “Zed’s super strength,” with Freya following up by saying, “we could zombie-out, we could wolf-out, we could have the alien powers with the wind and the
fire. I would honestly pick the wind, I feel like I can use that in my day-to-day.”
Don’t miss these two talented stars in ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires, premiering July 10 on Disney Channel and streaming the next day on Disney+!
