A person was found dead inside a rental property owned by Conan Harris, the husband of U.S Representative Ayanna Pressley, prompting a police investigation in Boston. According to TMZ, authorities said the victim died from a single gunshot wound, though investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police have not publicly identified the victim or announced any arrests. According to an official statement, an individual walked into a Boston police station on Saturday to report a shooting in the Mattapan neighborhood.

Officers responded promptly, conducted a protective sweep, and discovered the victim near a bedroom. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the person dead at the scene.

Officials have not said whether the victim had any connection to Conan Harris or Rep Ayanna Pressley. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives await additional forensic findings and continue to determine what led to the fatal shooting.

Police Continue Investigating Fatal Shooting at Conan Harris’s Rental Property

Boston Police Officer James Moccia said the department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.

“This death investigation is currently being handled by the Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit”, Moccia said.

At the time of this report, investigators have found no evidence linking U.S Representative Ayanna Pressley or her husband, Conan Harris, to the fatal shooting. Neither Harris nor the congresswoman lived at the property when the incident occurred.

According to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Pressley’s office emphasized that the family had no involvement in the case, adding, “The Congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family.”

Investigation Continues as Police Seek Answers

While investigators continue examining the case, the two-story rental property remains at the center of the ongoing investigation. Police have not identified a suspect, and the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting remains unclear.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Boston Police Department as detectives continue their investigation.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, 52, married Conan Harris in 2014 and is the stepmother of his daughter. Before launching his own business in 2019, Harris served as a public safety adviser at Boston City Hall. The Boston Police Department confirmed Saturday that there is no new information to share regarding the investigation.
